
Clay Target Set Program Record
The Centurion Clay Target team participated in their inaugural shoot of the season at their home venue, the Flat River Conservation Club in Greenville, MI. The team competed in both Trap and Skeet disciplines.
In the Trap competition, the team achieved a score of 224 out of 250 points, setting a new school record. Freshman Evan Plonka led the team with an impressive 49 points and a shooting average of 0.98. Freshman Jack McBride followed closely with 48 points and a 0.96 average. Chase Merritt recorded 45 points, while both Drake Syrjala and Azariah Trumble contributed with 41 points each. Notably, Evan and Jack each reached the 25-Straight milestone in Trap, narrowly missing out on the 50-Straight achievement.
In the Skeet competition, the team scored 178 out of 250 points. Sophomore Drake Syrjala and freshman Evan Plonka led this discipline as well, both scoring 38 points out of 50. Jack McBride scored 35 points, Azariah Trumble scored 34 points, and Chase Merritt contributed with 33 points.
The team is scheduled to return to the Flat River Conservation Club next week on Friday, September 20.
